Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965 is an American actress. She also works as an actor and producer. She is best known for her character as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded two Emmy Awards in 2010 as well as 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. The show ended on August 13, 2012, following the completion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), a speech teacher and educational/family therapist , and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick says she is Jewish and has stated that she is a member of Passover seders.
