Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United American. She founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage located in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001 and shortly thereafter exited the company. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared on every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals since February, 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving from one job to the next throughout Corcoran’s childhood. The family relied on free food deliveries from the local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who would drink occasionally and was rude to her mother. Corcoran struggled in school, and later found out she was dyslexic. Corcoran attended an Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran dropped a few classes during her first year, and then transferred to Leonia High School where she was an A student.
